Powerful natives with a deep spiritual connection and a passionate resistance to change.
These Cartan natives once covered the continent in migrating tent cities, but are now but a shell of what they once were. Although Orcs were never “sophisticated,” by Old World standards, having no writing system of their own nor permanent settlements, the orcs’ development was further hindered by the first Vaslish settlers to Cartas, who dismissed them as savages. Treated as such, the orcs were slaughtered by the dozen, and learned to retaliate to these attacks quickly and efficiently. After generations, the short-lived orcs became bred for war against the humans and elves. With spiritual roots, strong traditions, and even a musical canon, orcs have a strong culture and set of values that affects their day-to-day lives, even once an orc has entered into other societies.
